What is the Hx2 Project?

Simply put, the Hx2 Project is the ultimate synthesis of speed and safety, the divine synergy between man and machine and the epitome of driveability and practicality. Not to mention a forerunner in automotive technology. The Hx2 Project is not a car, it's a revolution.

Welcome! My name is Derek Gould and my associate, Steven Curl, and I have a dream. A dream where F1 like performance is available in a street car without sacrificing things like cargo space or fuel economy. Where everything is where it's expected to be and everything does what it's expected to do. Where acceleration is paramount, and so are handling, braking and top speed. Where you don't have to sell your house, your kidneys, your dog and your first born daughter to get it all. Where there are no buts; no compromises...period. Essentially, the perfect road car.

You may be thinking, "that's impossible! How can a car with that much performance and that much practicality be even remotely inexpensive?" The answer is budgets. Since we aren't a huge corporation we don't have employees we have to compensate constantly and thus if/when we finish development we wont have any real overhead to recoup. However, on the other end, we don't have the luxury of the basically unlimited budget. As such, we'll have to find lower cost solutions, thus reducing the price of the car. Plus, as nice as it would be to make some money on this, it isn't our primary goal and, as such, there will be little to no markup.

Now for the real meat, our goals: (i.e. proposed specs)
3.2L v8 producing around 700 hp
Mid-engine rear drive configuration
Magnesium alloy wheels with Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R tires
Four corner independent double wishbone suspension
Brembo (possibly carbon) slotted/drilled disc brakes
Custom, mostly carbon fiber body and chassis
Complete control of most aspects of the car without leaving the driver's seat
1500 lbs. wet weight (without driver)

There are still a few aspects of the car I'm withholding for the time being. Don't worry though, all will be revealed soon enough.

This blog will serve as our development log, so please, join us in this journey into the future!
